What’s in a name? For up and coming children’s music artists, Star Forest, a lot. Star Forest is not just another alternative Spotify band, they’re a magical, mystical, musical experience for kids, adults, and whoever wants to go on the journey to Star Forest. You see, Star Forest isn’t just the name of the band, it’s a place enshrouded with teal colored trees, glowing stars (star sluggz) and a waterfall — Check out their website at Starforest.rocks if you don’t believe me. Star Forest is truly a state of mind.

Star Forest was born out of Genevieve Le Doux’s desire…

Kait Kunzman is not just half of 18th & Addison anymore. As of Friday, August 13, she’s officially a solo artist.

That’s right. On August 13th, the bright blue haired singer dropped her first single as a solo artist entitled, “Love Like Lithium”. And all props go to her on this one. She wrote, and self produced the track, and she even played the live bass on the recording. How awesome is that?

“Love Like Lithium” seems to pick up exactly where 18th & Addison last left us — at the crossroads of pop rock influenced synth pop and deep…

If I say the name Avril Lavigne, the words pop punk princess, or skater boi, will probably pop into your head at some point. And while yes, Avril is definitely known by millions for being the 2000s answer to Cyndi Lauper, and as that skater boi chick, there was a period of time (that somehow a lot of people forget about) when Avril actually tried to go goth. That period of time was during 2004 in the wake of her sophomore album, Under My skin.

On the album, which is now 17 years old, Lavinge took a bold step away…

It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since Louder Now by emo game changers, Taking Back Sunday came out. It feels like it was just yesterday when I downloaded the album from itunes to my ipod Nano and was blaring the 12 songs that make up the record at every chance. Louder Now will always go down as perhaps my all time favorite Taking Back Sunday record. And with good reasoning. From front to back, this album was always a total banger. It’s full of addictively melodic, emo pop anthems that make you want to get up and mosh…

UK Pop Punkers, Project Revise, have been making quite a name for themselves since their formation in 2017. With features in Kerrang! Magazine, Alternative Press and on BBC Music, it’s clear that these dudes are on their ascent to becoming the next pop punk band you need to know about.

UK Pop Punkers Project Revise are a pop punk band you should know about.

The rockin’ three piece pop punk outfit from Worcestershire/Redditch UK featuring Chris Tamburro on guitars and vocals, Rich Marshall on bass and vocals, and Dave Yarnell on drums has already released two EPs and a slew of singles. If you haven’t listened to their first two eps ( Songs That…

Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of Josie and the Pussycats, the live action movie, hitting theaters across America. The movie, based off the 1970’s comic of the same name, follows the story of an all girl rock (or pop punk band) band who just want a shot at being real rockstars. Their dreams finally come true one fateful night when they meet a snarky A&R named Wyatt who turns into them superstars for a special price. The movie is a little silly at times. And there are times when the product placement obsession gets a little like, okayyy we get…

Abhi Bairathi knows a thing or two about how to be the best damn underground pop punk rocker dude a guy can be during quarantine. Or at least that’s what he wants you to think. The multi instrumentalist/ producer dude behind pop punk project, Soldiers of Society has had the songs off his eponymous album in his possession for years, but it wasn’t until 2020 that he decided to re-record them and release them on all streaming services. “I didn’t write any of these songs during the quarantine,” Bairathi told me in a recent interview.

Most of the songs were…

Shoegaze and Dream Pop have undergone many interpretations by artists and bands through the years. But few artists have been able to reproduce the original sound with such precision. Until now. Enter Inframell0w: the 22 yr old Italian, also known as Tomasso La Rocca, is reviving the genre 2021 style. And it’s a dream come true.

Tomasso La Rocca aka Inframell0w is bringing back old school shoegaze/dream pop on his debut EP.

The first time I heard Inframell0w’s track, “Starry”, I was amazed at how well LaRocca had managed to truly revive ‘80s Shoegaze. “Starry”, the first track off of Inframell0w’s debut EP, is a cool dance through the night. The droning reverb and echoes in…

There’s something interesting about alt /pop rock band Life as Mary.

The indie Atlanta based band/group, led by a solo artist known only as Mary, has made a name for herself by releasing tracks heavily inspired by the slew of female pop rock artists of the 2000s. But Mary’s love of the female pop rock artists of the 2000s is no accident. Mary was, in fact, in a band in the late 90s/early 2000s and even recorded an album (The Aaron Sessions) which until 2018 was unreleased. “I was playing the songs live in the early 2000’s and made the…

It’s official. The “Broke Down in Babylon” music video is out meaning that the song is officially out (okay, not technically). The video, which premiered this afternoon on Outburn magazine’s website, is an awesome visual experience that captures the essence of the song extremely well.

Clocking in at a cool 3 minutes and 19 seconds, the video is a trippy, dramatic, somewhat maddening emotional experience. From the onset, a dizzying array of flashing neon technicolor lights create a state of madness and disarray - a theme that runs constantly throughout the song and video. When the duo appear out of…
